ENGINE RACE EVENT WAIVER & LIABILITY RELEASE

1. Acknowledgement of Risk

I understand that Engine Race is a physically demanding competitive fitness event involving:

  • Running (varied distances)

  • Functional fitness stations

  • Strength and conditioning exercises

  • Use of gym and competition equipment

I acknowledge that participation involves inherent and significant risks, including but not limited to:

  • Injury or death

  • Musculoskeletal injury (sprains, strains, fractures)

  • Cardiovascular events

  • Dehydration, heat-related illness

  • Slips, trips, falls, and collisions

  • Equipment-related injury

  • Risks associated with outdoor track environments

I voluntarily accept all such risks.

2. Fitness & Health Declaration

I confirm that:

  • I am physically fit and capable of participating

  • I have no condition that would make participation unsafe

  • I have sought medical advice where appropriate

  • I will not participate if injured, unwell, or advised otherwise

I accept full responsibility for monitoring my own condition before and during the event.

3. Assumption of Risk

I knowingly and voluntarily assume full responsibility for all risks, both known and unknown, even if arising from the actions or negligence of others.

4. Waiver & Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, I:

  • Waive and release Engine Race Events UK, its directors, staff, volunteers, sponsors, partners, and venue providers from any and all claims

  • Agree not to hold them liable for injury, loss, damage, or expense arising from my participation

This includes claims arising from negligence, except where liability cannot be excluded under the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 (including death or personal injury caused by negligence).

5. Compliance & Conduct

I agree to:

  • Follow all event rules, safety briefings, and staff instructions

  • Compete fairly within my entered category

  • Not act recklessly or endanger others

  • Not participate under the influence of drugs or alcohol

I understand the organiser has the right to remove me from the event without refund if I breach these terms.

6. Equipment & Environment

I understand that:

  • I may use shared equipment during the event

  • Surfaces may be uneven or affected by weather

  • I am responsible for using equipment safely and as instructed

7. Medical Treatment

I consent to:

  • Receiving emergency first aid or medical treatment if required

  • Event staff contacting emergency services on my behalf

I accept that any treatment is at my own risk and cost.

8. Personal Property

I understand that:

  • I am responsible for my own belongings

  • Engine Race Events UK is not liable for loss, theft, or damage

9. Photography & Media Release

I grant Engine Race Events UK full rights to:

  • Capture and use images, video, and audio of me

  • Use this content for marketing, advertising, and promotional purposes

No compensation will be provided.

10. Event Changes, Cancellation & Refunds

I acknowledge that:

  • The event may be changed, postponed, or cancelled due to safety, weather, or operational reasons

  • Entry fees are non-refundable, except at the organiser’s discretion

11. Data Protection

I consent to my data being used for:

  • Event management

  • Safety and emergency purposes

  • Post-event communication

All data will be handled in line with UK data protection laws.

12. Agreement

By agreeing on your ticket confirmation, I confirm that:

  • I have read and understood this waiver in full

  • I agree to all terms voluntarily

  • I accept full responsibility for my participation
